The Infant/Child Key is designed exclusively for use with the Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator and is intended for the treatment of infants and children under 8 years of age or weighing less than 25 kg (55 lbs).
When the Infant/Child Key is inserted into the FRx:
The defibrillator automatically reduces defibrillation energy
The device provides voice and visual instructions
Graphics on the key show correct pad placement during use
CPR guidance is adjusted to be appropriate for infant and child patients
This allows the HeartStart FRx to deliver age-appropriate therapy and guidance without requiring separate pediatric pads.
